WORLD SCIENCE DAY | ONLINE LECTURE SERIES

Portugal | Science | 24 november

World Science Day will take place online next Wednesday, 24th, between 15:00 and 17:30. Where and how do atoms combine to form molecules in space? And, above all, how do we know they are there? What is the importance and usefulness of visual tools in exploring data and strengthening communication in situations such as the Covid-19 pandemic?

These are some of the questions that will be explored in the World Science Day celebrations.

Promoted by Casa das Ciências, in partnership with the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP), this cycle of short lectures will feature the participation of FCUP professors Pedro Fernandes, from the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department, Óscar Felgueiras, from the Mathematics Department and Fernando Tavares, from the Biology Department. With free and open participation, the lecture cycle also counts with the participation of Paulo Ribeiro Claro, professor at the Chemistry Department of the University of Aveiro.
