The University of Lisbon’s redeSAÚDE is organizing a workshop, on 14 January, with the purpose of presenting a broad framework on the theme of Neurodegenerative Diseases. It includes the presentation of some scientific contributions of young researchers from the UL and a round table, open to the community, where it will be debated how Science, Society, Industry, Regulators, and Communication can interact for a common effort to combat these diseases.
In the most developed countries, there is a strong concern in reducing this risk and in treating these diseases effectively. The organization of the workshop argues that it is important to address this issue not only in terms of the scientific component, but also in terms of the role of the various partners in its solution and how advances and discoveries should be communicated to society.
