The exhibition was organised by Casa Comum – Cultura U.Porto and the Instituto de Sociologia da Universidade do Porto. It aims to celebrate the musical careers of 15 women who contributed to the history of national rock. Lena D’Água, Ana Deus, Anabela Duarte, Manuela Azevedo and Xana are some examples.
“Mulheres que Fazem Barulho!” tells the stories of these women through records, cassettes, clothes, props, scribbles of lyrics, staves, drumsticks, musical instruments, and other objects that marked their careers.
The exhibition is curated by Paula Guerra and artistically by Alexandre Lourenço. It will be available until 30 September and admission is free.
