On June 8, at 15h00, a videoconference will take place on the importance of science being close to society and communities. Diogo Veríssimo (Oxford University), Maria Vicente (Open Science Platform) and Milene Matos (BioLiving; Municipality of Lousada) will be the speakers.
Assuming that the term “society” covers citizens and communities with very different realities and needs, there are challenges such as distance to large urban centres and population density. “How to work with citizens locally, involving them with science?”, is the great motto of this conference.
