The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has approved the creation of a faculty of the University of Lisbon at the University of Shanghai.
An important step in the international affirmation of the University of Lisbon (ULisboa), the faculty will start by offering degrees in civil engineering, electrical engineering and environmental engineering. “The first courses are expected to start next September, with international recruitment of students”, writes the educational institution on its website.
Already, in September of next year, three master’s courses will also begin in the same areas.
In addition to the fact that part of the courses will be held in Lisbon, the cycle of studies will be taught in English and have Portuguese as a second language, whose teaching is included in the curriculum of the courses.
In this first phase, the faculty will have 900 students, and the teaching staff will be divided, in equal proportion, between teachers from ULisboa, the University of Shanghai and other teachers, who will be recruited internationally.
