Erasmus+ National Agency presents survey findings on international volunteering

10 December, 2021

In November, the Erasmus+ National Agency conducted a survey on international volunteering to around 200 young people, under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) project. On 5 December, the results were presented at Alfândega do Porto, during the celebrations of the International Volunteering Day.

The main conclusion is that the respondents consider the experience of international volunteering “fundamental” to help them enter the labour market and that they became “more aware and with greater respect for other cultures, and promoters of multicultural dynamics”, as explained to the newspaper Público.

The Erasmus+ National Agency also concludes that international volunteering projects helped young people to improve their public speaking and crisis management skills, making them more active and informed European citizens.
