Applications are now open for the 5th edition of the Altice International Innovation Award (AIIA), an award that aims to distinguish entrepreneurs and start-ups in the incubation phase of up to three years and with a branch in Portugal or France, as well as masters and doctoral students in Portuguese academic institutions.
Aiming to support innovative technological projects, regardless of the training area of the promoters, the initiative will award two prizes in two distinct categories.
The first, for start-ups, has prize money of 50 thousand Euros and the possibility of carrying out a pilot with the Altice Group, for a minimum duration of 9 months. The second, in the Academia category, has prize money of 25,000 euros. The winners of both categories will be known in November of this year.
Following the partnerships established with the National Innovation Agency (ANI) and the Altice Portugal Foundation, there are also extra prizes for all finalists in both categories, which are automatically eligible for the award “Born from Knowledge”, which rewards the best finalist project that results from research and development activities (R&D), enhancing national scientific and technological knowledge.
All candidates in both categories, whose projects promote the digital inclusion of people with special needs, may also be eligible to win an additional 15,000 euros, with the “Inclusive by Altice Foundation” award.
All those interested in participating can make their application through the AIIA website until 23 September.
Since 2016, AIIA has received more than 300 applications, representing a total investment of more than 275,000 euros.
