The student Marisa Sousa, from the Doctoral Programme in Sports Sciences at FADEUP, was distinguished with the 2021 Swimming Teaching Award. The prize was awarded at the 44th Congress of the Portuguese Swimming Technicians Association.
Marisa Sousa, current swimming teacher and responsible for the introduction of many children to this sport, currently works with the Sports Centre of the University of Porto. The FADEUP student took the opportunity to thank the initiative, which is inspired by the Global Teacher Prize Portugal. She also took the opportunity to thank her friends and family, FADEUP teachers, the institution itself and her first swimming teacher.
The swimming teacher is currently attending the 3rd cycle in Sports Science, but has already concluded, in the same institution (FADEUP), the masters in High Performance Sports Training, in 2010, and Sports Management, 2016.
This was the first edition of the Swimming Teaching Award.
