This theme relates mainly to the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, which seeks to promote a comprehensive and sustainable policy in order to provide a humane and effective long-term response to the current challenges of irregular migration, with a view to developing legal migration pathways that allow for better integration of refugees and other new arrivals.
This first session takes place in the framework of the Future of Europe Conference which is a joint initiative of the European Parliament, the Council, and the European Commission taking place from May 2021 until spring 2022 with the aim of giving citizens a greater role in shaping the policies and ambitions of the European Union.
